A very pretty Antique Russian Imperial Silver basket, having an oval body, all hand-engraved in a neoclassical style with swags of floral decoration below an upper band of hand-piercing, a hinged swing handle, and all sitting on an oval pedestal foot. Made in Moscow, Russia in 1874. The dimensions of this fine hand-made antique silver basket are height 9 inches length 12 inches), width 8.5 inches, and it weighs approx. 495g (16 troy ounces).
Elegant and unique sterling silver basket has six hallmarks stamped on the bottom of the bowl. Hallmark B.C stands for silversmith Savikov Viktor, second one 84 stands for sterling silver, third one St. george stands for Moscow manufacture, fourth one A.W.W stands for silversmith Bekman Andrei Vilgelmovich, Fifth one - lady's head with number 2 is a polish mark and the sixth one is owls head.
This large and heavy baskkket is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs and weighs 546 grams.
