Beautiful Russian lacquer box " Tsar Nicolay The Second With Family" depicts Royal family of Romanovs in Livadia Palace, painted by a talented Fedoskino artist, Brovchenko in the late 1990's
Nicholas II was the last Tsar of Russia, Grand Duke of Finland, and claimed the title of King of Poland. His official title was Nicholas II, Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias.
His wife, Alexandra Feodorovna, on the left, Romanova was Empress of Russia as spouse of Nicholas II.
In the middle of the portrait we see their five children: Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia and tsesarevich Alexei.
The portrait is painted in the realistic style of Russian art.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work.
The work is signed at the bottom with the artist's name and village Fedoskino and the sides of the lacquered box are decorated with scottish ornaments.
The size of the box is 8"x6.5x2.3
