The beautiful Russian Lacquered Box "Mermaids" was painted by the very talented Russian artist Ogibalova S.E. from the village of Fedoskino, Russia. This box is very unique because it is painted on a whole shell, and it's quite difficult for the artist to paint due to the uneven surface of the shell. The  mother of pearl  shines through the paint and thin  coats of lacquer creating a gorgeous artistic effect . This box is not only painted on the outside of the shell but on the inside as well. The size of this amazing work of art is 8" x 5.5" x 2.75". the box is hinged on the top side of the shell and signed by the artist inside the lid. What awonderful addition to one's collection!
