This Russian Lacquered box "Evening Outing" was hand made and hand painted in the village of Fedoskino by well known artist Kabashov M. Round Dancing is a popular traditional folk dance in rural Russia. It involves girls, women, and sometimes men doing traditional dances in a circular form. The lacquer box is signed by the artist in the lower right corner on the lid. It is dedicated to 200 years of Fedoskino art of lacquer painting.The miniature is painted over gold leaf with oil paint and covered with several layers of lacquer. It would make a great addition to one's collection of Russian art.
