This exquisite Russian lacquer box "Beautiful Daydreaming Snow Maiden" was hand made and hand painted in the village of Fedoskino by the well known artist Pichugina M. The box depicts a beautiful maiden in the middle of the winter forest surrounded by snowy pine trees and birds. The box is painted on papier mache and gold leaf which shines and sparkles, and is lacquered over with many translucent layers. The dimensions of the box are 6" x 6" x 1.25"
