Amazing hand painted Russian wooden Santa is a museum quality one-of-a-kind work of art. It is painted by the most famous and talented Russian artist Marina Nadezhdina in the village of Khot'kovo near Sergiev-Posad, Russia. This gorgeous Santa is hand carved of solid piece of linden wood which was dried in open air for 4 years and carved by one of the few gifted carvers. On the front of Santa we see children playing with their pets painted with very fine detail in a winter wonderland, and on the back artist depicted Santa walking with a large sack full of toys in the forest, young children playing in the snow with cute little fox nearby.
The painting reminds of old masterpieces with livelike faces and meticulous details. The colors are very vibrant and the faces look alive with beautiful expressions. Santa's bag is decorated with exquisite gold leaf ornaments and the masterpiece is lacquered with many layers of translucent lacquer. Gorgeous Russian Ded Moroz- grandfather Frost-Santa Claus is 11" tall.
