Russian lacquer box "The Fairytale" is hand made and hand painted in village of Mstera by artist Antonovsky. It is based on popular and beloved Russian fairy tale "Tzar Saltan" by famous Russian writer Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. This large vintage box was painted in 1980s and is in perfect condition. It is decorated with very fine ornaments painted with gold leaf around miniature and on the sides and signed by the artist on the bottom.
The dimensions of the lacquered box are 9.5" x 5.5 x1.6".
