This exquisite hand painted all over with many characters matryoshka was painted by famous Russian Artist Marina Krylova from Moscow, Russia in early 1990's Marina Krylova and her artworks are featured in many catalogs, books, museums and private collections all over the world.
Unlike the mass-produced traditional souvenir matryoshkas Krylova's nesting dolls are exceptional and unique works of art. They were selected by expert of Russian Folk Art Elena Filippova for her album "Russian Matryoshka".
Krylova's charachters a warm, kind and appeal to all generations. Marina's colors are soft, pastel and sometimes transparent. This Doll is in the background of the photo Krylova doll in Elena Filippova book "Russian Matryoshka".
Marina Krylova is a graduate of Abramtsevo Art College. She is one of the most famous and popular Matryoshka artists in the world. She has been painting nesting dolls for 30 years. We see her great skill and experience in each finished doll. She coats all her dolls with self-mixed matte varnish to protect her work for generations.
She moved from folk art to fine art and stopped making dolls around 15 years ago, which make her dolls even more valuable and collectible.
The doll stands 8.5(20.5 cm) inches tall and signed by the artist on the bottom of the largest doll.
Marina's dolls are special in their own unique and unmistakable style. You can see her great skill and experience in each finished doll. Her artworks joined many distinguished collections also exhibited in Moscow Dolls Museum. Excellent condition.This doll is from our own collection of almost 30 years.
