This beautiful Russian Matryoshka Nesting Doll is titled "The Winter Troika". The Matryoshka depicts scenes of the famous Russian Troika or three horse carriage. The troika was considered one of the best transportation methods in early Russian culture, especially in the winter time. This nesting doll is hand painted and hand made in Sergiyev Posad, Moscow (Zagorsk). The Matryoshka is 5.5 inches tall and has a total of 10 pieces. The last few pieces of this nesting doll are very tiny, yet still hand painted. The nesting doll is a symbol of Russian art and culture and is collectible. This Matryoshka is lacquered several times creating a nice shiny finish and is painted with bright and vivid colors. Each doll also has gold leaf.
