This unique Russian lacquered box was painted by the Russian artist Dimitriev C. from the village of Kholui, Russia. The title of this box is "The Scarlet Flower" and it is based on the famous Russian fairy tale. Thiz box was made in the shape of a sphere and it is painted all around the surface of the sphere. The sphere cover of the box rests on a cylindrical shaped box which is also painted and lacquered. Painting on a circular surface is very hard and most artist prefer to paint on regular linear surfaces. The size of this box is 2.5" in diameter and 2.75" in hieght (including stand). Please note on some of the pictures the white stand is not part of the box it is simply used for photography purposes. The box has a stand of its own which is painted and attached to the base.
