This Russian lacquered box was painted by the Russian artist Arapov from the village of Palekh, Russia. The theme of this Russian lacquer box is the famous fairy tale, The Golden Cockarel. This box was painted in the year 2000 and the size of this box is 3.75" x 3" x 1.5". This box is painted with a great amount of 24k gold leaf and it is painted not only on the lid but also intricate patterns all around the sides of the box adding a very beautiful look to the unusually shaped box.
