The gorgeous Russian Matryoshka doll "The Snow Maiden" and was painted by Yulia Talman, one of Russia's most famous artists & designers. Yulia Talman started out design dresses and gowns for the Russian Opera, Ballet, and Theatre. This is where she got many of the ideas that are seen among her nesting dolls. This Russian Matryoshka has five pieces. It is hand painted and stands at nine inches tall. The diameter of the largest nesting doll is 3". Yulia Talman is very well known world wide and her nesting dolls are featured in almost all books about the art and throughout many galleries and museums.
