This very unusual Russian lacquered box is titled "Neptune" and was painted by Kovina from the village of Kholui, Russia. This box is painted on a perfect sphere which is very hard to do and most artists only paint on flat surface. This box is painted all around and the lid of the box is the sphere itself. The sphere sits on top of a cylindrical box which is also painted. The size of this unique piece is 3.25" in diameter and 4" in height (including base).
