This incredible Russian lacquer box was painted by master artist, Sergey Ivanovich Golubenkov. Golubenkov is very well known as one of the top artists of the Fedoskino School of Drawing. This lacquered box is titled "Getting Water" and depicts a beautiful Russian girl on her way to the well to retrieve water. This lacquered box was painted in a very realistic style and the artist does a great job of capturing all of the colors of spring time, with the trees and flowers blooming, the sun shining towards the girl, and even details as the strain on the wood are visible. This one-of-a-kind piece was painted in the village of Fedoskino and the size of this lacquered box is 6" x 7.5" x 1.5". Sergey Ivanovich Golubenkov was born in 1960 in a village of Marfino where he now resides.
