This very interesting Russian Lacquer Box is titled "Andrei Rublev". Andrei Rublev was considered one of the most famous Russian Icon painters of all time. He has painted some of the most famous Russian Icons and church fresco's of all time. His work was later referred to by Church's as a base for all Icon painting. Andrei Rublev was canonized a Saint in 1988. This unique Russian lacquer box was painted by Maklakova O. from the village of Kholui. The size of this lacquered box is 7" x 9.5" x 1.5".
