This beautiful box is a creation of Tatyana Gomzina. It shows a beautiful girl dressed in an extravagant Russian costume standing in the middle of a mid-day autumn wind having her portrait taken. A romantic and elevated mood is reflected on her face. This box is beautifully made with rich paints, clear black lacquer and a beautiful shine which is strengthened by a gold metal leaf inlay. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The scene is framed with a gold line. A hinge is fastened to the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino. The size of this Russian lacquered box is 3.75" x 5" x 0.75".
